Well hopefully i will be able to keep this up everyday – nothing really gets me going in the morning like a cup of coffee & a little sketching. Also — i believe everyone should keep a box of crayons wherever they do their artistic work. Not only do they provide nostalgic aromas — but using them is a tribute to, and a wonderful reminder of, the reason we started creating when we were children. Right now i can’t get the memory of walking down the halls of Bauder Elementary, past the spilling cubblies of mittens and scarfs and snow-covered coats to art class. Oils and vectors and paid work is great — but pick up a crayon and feel a forgotten sense of being alive.
